It is getting VERY exciting on Captiva Island! Every day I hear about something even more spectacular happening for the CAPTIVA HOLIDAY VILLAGE festivities in December 2010. Haven’t heard about it yet? That’s because this is the very first year and the buzz is Big! I’m talking… every inch of the streets from ‘Tween Waters Inn to The Mucky Duck to South Seas Island Resort will be decorated to the nines with lights and attractions. But Wait! AND there will be a golf cart parade, boat parade, fire dancers on the beach, a holiday Marketplace, seafood festival, pub crawl and lots of live music and parties.
Hang on…. if you like that, this is the best news! iLoveShelling.com will be participating in all of the fun!! Want to know why I was collecting all of those COCKLE shells on my post The Cockle Collection yesterday?Clark and I will have a decked out Christmas golf cart for the parade decorated with shells (of course) and handing out seashells to the crowd as we ride through on Saturday December 4th. We’ll have a table for Luminary Night giving out more shells and my homemade SAND DOLLAR cookies close to the The Mucky Duck on Saturday night December 4th. We’ll also have a tent at the Holiday Marketplace selling our brand new iLoveShelling tee shirts, caps, tote bags, shelling gear and more on December 10th, 11th and 12th! I’ve had many people ask me if I wear something to identify myself on the beach…. so now I will … and you will too! It’s so exciting!
These are just some of the shells that I am going to be giving away throughout this “extravaganza”. Now you know why I need LOTS of shells and can’t have the ones that break easily (like the SEA URCHINS that I passed up yesterday). Yes, I have my WORMIES in the mix too. I won’t be throwing them out of our cart in the parade but I will have some at my booth at the Holiday Marketplace for you special people out there that are as crazy about them as I am.
Okay, ya’ll- If you are thinking about joining us in any or all of the Holiday festivities, I have the inside scoop on places to stay.
If you want me to help you find a room for a week or weekend, just CONTACT ME HERE and I’ll help you find a great place to stay to help us Shellebrate the Season! Here is an events calendar…… click it to enlarge.
I love your cone and olive, Pam! They are great!!
I love the Christmas art as well! But am curious to see the “I love shelling” items too! Will you be offering those online?
Love your artwork…clever, Pam. Would love to see the golf cart…will you post pics? You must really have a stupendous collection of shells if you are giving those buckets full at the festival! That is so cool, wish we could be there, but alas won’t be arriving until Christmas Day. Hope to run into you on the beach!
Maybe I missed it in another post but are you selling cards with your holiday art work? I would love to buy Christmas cards with your shells wearing Santa hats! They are cute and simple but so…. perfect! Just the shell on the outside and inside: ” May the treasures of Christmas live in your heart during the Season or “May the memories of this Season remain a cherished treasure”… something like that ;) Just a thought! My husband reads your blog every night from top to bottom and he loves the art work too. We’ll try to find you on the beach in 2011.
Have fun at Captiva Holiday Village- sounds fun!

I am positively thrilled about the Holiday activities as we will be arriving for a week vacation on 12/10.
This is great! We’ll be there 11-18. I definitely need some ILS gear. We’ve never been to Sanibel in December so we’re looking forward to the decorated palm trees. Keep us informed about the days and locations—thanks
Oh my word… I wish I could be there, just to snag some of your awesome wormies! I’m perennially jealous of your good worm-shell fortune. Have a great time!
Hey Pam, any chance your t-shirts will come in Plus Sizes? Please don’t forget us voluptuous babes! Can’t wait to see all your merch. Have a great day!
LOL- Don’t you worry- I’ve got you covered “babe”! I have an “adult” tee (men’s) that I will carry up to XL and I was thinking about a ladies tee that I was going to carry up to XXL (it’s a cute v-neck but not too low a vee). Maybe I should take a poll? Hmmmm. What do you think? Here? FaceBook? You are making my day!
I need a medium—wait, make that a large, I’ll be eating lots of key lime pie that week.
LOL- I’ll save one for you MAR and a wormie Val
Thanks for sharing the news Pam!!! Captiva Holiday village is going to be fantastic!
Can’t wait to see your cart and wear your new iloveshelling.com gear!
This sounds like a lot of fun. And now I know why you left all those urchins! Wish I could be there!
Oh now you guys are making me jealous. What a fabulous time you have ahead of you Pam. This is going to be one cool event! Can’t wait to see the shots. Pruxxx
Us plus size(fluffy is how you said they describe plus size down here) fluffy people never have a problem with a v-neck. Sorry we’re leaving the end of Nov., might be adding some weeks next winter so that we’ll be here for the 2nd annual Captiva Holiday celebration. We will be expecting lots of photos.
The Sanibel Sisters Judith and Linda had called themselves “fluffy” to describe themselves so I could find them if I happened to be a the same beach. Too cute! I’ll have a few plus sizes… save you one?
