The most heartwarming gift is a handmade gift. If you’ve ever made a gift for someone, you know that with every stitch… or drop of glue… or every rhyme to a poem….or stroke of the brush…… that special person is in your thoughts.
So when I received this beautiful seashell quilt from Tammy T from Utah, I burst into tears.
I’m not a quilter but I know how much thought and the hours and hours Tammy put into making this gorgeous quilt for me. For me??? It makes my heart swell.
I’m not sure I could read this out loud to y’all without crying again, so it’s a good thing I can just let you see the letter for yourself that came along with it. Just click the photo to make it larger.
I can’t thank you enough, Tammy, for such a thoughtful gift! I really can’t believe my little blog to spread the sunshine of Sanibel and our beautiful seashells would inspire you that much to make this as a gift. I’m forever touched and grateful that I have now met you and your lovely husband Steve.
As you can see, the quilt is a perfect match for our guest room (with the quilted pillow made by Clark’s sister Janice) so it has a new happy home until I need it for snuggling up with Clark to watch our fave TV show (Survivor!). Thank you again Tammy! You will always be dear to my heart.
PS- Oh! And congrats on your JUNONIA!!!!
That is incredible. I am on my phone and can’t read the letter yet. But the quilt ia amazing and perfect for that room!! It is absolutely lovely!!
What a beautiful gift! And I can totally agree with Tammy— I look forward to your blog entry every day to bring Sanibel to me up in Wisconsin! Thank you!

For those of us lucky enough to experience Sanibel first-hand, your blog is our continued connection to this beautiful island. For those who have not traveled to Sanibel yet, your blog gives them an idea of the beauty and treasures that await. ox

Perfectly said!!!!! We love you Pam!!
What a fitting tribute of showing her appreciation. This beautiful quilt involved long hours of devotion for a passion that she wanted to share. Which is exactly what you every time you take your camera and record your experiences with all your bloggers…Thank you to both of your for being so selfless.
With warm regards
What a wonderful, thoughtful gift! It’s just beautiful, Tammy. I’ll be down in just 17 more days! Can’t wait! Hope to get to meet you, Pam. Look for me – I’ll be wearing my shelling sistas tee shirt!
What more can I say that hasn’t already been said? The quilt is absolutely beautiful. How wonderful that Tammy has shared her talent with you as you share your love of Sanibel and seashells with us.
I also will be down in 21 days. So look for me too in my sista shirt!
I have been looking at your website for the past 2 years, live in fl part time. When I saw the quilt I knew I had to write to you, as a stitcher I know the time and effort that went into it..
I love all of your comments, education, and wonderful photos, keeps me close to the seas when I cannot be near. Each time I am near the ocean God presents me with a special gift to cherish, this year it was a beautiful red sea fan still set in white coral just laying on the beach….
So thank you again for your site, will be back to Sannibel – Floridas true oasis>
Wow… A homemade quilt is a labor of love!
What a great way to let Pam know how much you appreciate her Sanibel blog!

What a perfect, thoughtful gift — fitting that it was sent to you, Pam! As so many others have expressed, your blog is a connection to Paradise! Thanks, Tammy, for sending something so touching! And thanks, Pam, for sharing that gift with all of us today!
What a very special person Tammy must be to give such a gift. And what a special person to receive such a gift. For us that live miles away and tolerate the dreary days of winter, your website and blogs gives all of us the gift of paradise each day!
I grew up in Florida but live in Illinois now. I’ve shelled all my life and this blog has brightened so many days for me. Thanks so much! I can’t sew but if you need something taped or stapled I’m your gal!
LOL – cutie ;)
Pam, you have truly touched the hearts of so many people thru your blog. What a beautiful gift.
Tammy, what a beautiful quilt. You are truly amazing. You have a real talent. I want to be like you when I “grow up” and share my talents with others. To give a handmade quilt to someone that you don’t even know, is wonderful. Thank you for sharing the quilt with us, Pam.
Hi Pam –
Such a fun surprise to see today’s blog. So glad you like the quilt! Steve and I were delighted to meet you – it was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for all that you do – you bring joy to so many lives.
Tammy that quilt is so very pretty. I have looked at this post so many times ( like I do every post) and I just love the quilt more each time. I cannot believe how perfect it is for that room. Absolutely perfect….the color. ..the pattern mimics the pattern in her nightstands and picks up the color from the bottles on the table. Just perfect. What an amazing gift. You have made us all feel good!!
I second that! I keep looking back at it, too! It is truly beautiful and special. It looks just wonderful in her room! What a beautiful gift!

you are very important for us all. Often, we start our day with you. xx
What a thoughtful and wonderful treasure Tammy has made for you. I’ll bet she got as much joy from making it for you as you will seeing it every day. Enjoy!!
Pam, such a beautiful gift from the soul. Tammy expressed with her amazing talent what every one of us feels in our hearts about this wonderful blog you’ve created. I start and end my day with it. When I’m feeling down, it’s my happy place. Thank you.
My thoughts exactly! Thank you Tammy and Pam!!
Thank you all for such touching comments and encouragement. I’m all warm and fuzzy! You have no idea how much you all mean to me
I found your blog a few weeks ago and love it. Returned from Sanibel recently and I miss it so much!! Waves and wind were high so it was very hard to shell at the “surf line”, but I still found a few good shells in shallow spots. Lots of cockles and pen shells but not so many “minis”. Can’t wait to go back!
Now that I’m home, it’s wonderful to watch your videos and listen to the sounds of the surf. Could you post a long one that I can just play over and over? Thanks!
What a nice gift from Tammy!
What a wonderful gift for you. I’m a quilter too and know the love and joy that went into making this sweet quilt. My first trip to Sanibel was in 1969 and I’ve missed very few years visiting my second “home”. July will find me, my daughter, son-in-law, grandson and son returning to our idea of paradise. Gotta get the shell scooper and I’ll be ready!
Tammy is a true angel to share such a treasure with you. She is absolutely spot on, Pam you fill our days with sunshine, rainbows, birds, sunsets, seashells and even funny tales. We thank you.
Have a blessed and beautiful Easter everyone.
Great Gift Tammy! We all appreciate you doing that for Pam. Thank you Pam for the website we all love.
