Seriously, you’ve got to wear sunglasses when you’re on the beach. This is how many pairs of sunglasses I have because I keep a pair close at hand at all times……except yesterday. I did not take one pair of these sunglasses when I went to the beach. Not one pair. I forgot them. Not good. I’m just now recovering from a very long painful headache that kept me up all night long. So, PLEASE … ALWAYS protect your eyes! Drug stores, grocery stores and big box stores now sell the cheap (even polarized!) ones that are fantastic. Okay? I’ll be back to normal self soon and I’ll show you my cool finds.
Hope you feel much better!!
Feel better, Pam!
Sorry that was a problem.
I always seem to forget mine! Great Reminder. Hope your Sunday is restful!
Hope you feel better, Pam!! I get painful headaches from jaw and neck problems, and it is no fun! Sherri from MN
I feel your pain Shell Sistah. my 5 yo nephew kicked me in the face accidentally. Iwas so thankful to have my nose intact, I really didn’t see my sunglasses smashed to smitherins (Prescription ching ching) I picked up the old lady kind that slide ove my regular glasses at Walgreens for $15 and I love love them. They are polorized with ups your shelling/sharksteeth vision to a new level. So what if I look like Ray Charles.
I wear those too! I bought them because they covered so much of my face and there was no glare. I found out later, they are so big so you can wear prescription glasses under them…. i dont have prescriptions… I just like them because they are BIG and polarized. LOL I just know forgetting them will NEVER happen again. Thanks yall for the well wishes. I’m much better but I’m staying out of the sun today.
Feel better to find those beauties at the beach!
Glad u r feeling better :-)
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
I’ve even added the granny “rope” to my drugstore wraparound sunglasses so they can dangle from my neck when I don’t need them indoors. They make a fine crumb catcher during those sr. citizen early bird special meals too.
Funny — yet functional!!!
feel better Pam! We love you & Clark! Was just thinking of you this morn as I was perusing my little special mini box of tiny treasures from Sanibel & Captiva! trying to figure a way to make it to the Sanibel Stoop event next month! and laughing thinking about it!
Wow, I am sorry to hear that Pam, that’s a mild version of “snow blindness” (aka photokeratitis) from the glare from the white sand.
Can I ask, were you also without a hat, or did that happen anyway even with a hat? And how long were you out for? I guess I am lucky it didn’t happen to me in December when I was there.
I remember one time a few years ago I went to the outdoor swimming pool after the eye doctor had dilated my pupils, and I got that same thing. It hurts a lot! But fortunately you should be better real soon.
Susan, I did have a hat.. 2 as a matter of fact, thank goodness. I bought a new wide brimmed hat last weekend because of my constant exposure to the sun so I had that but I had to switch to my baseball cap so I could pull it down over my eyes and it would stay put. snow-blindness, huh? My mom just told me Dr Oz said to use a “Capsaicin Cream” to relieve migraine pain. Anybody know if that works?
myristica- you save them for a little snack later? heehee
We can never take our eyes for granted — besides adding comfort to out outtings, sunglasses protect us from many serious eye conditions! A friend never used to wear them UNTIL she had to have a little “freckle” removed from her eyelash line — cancer! We can all learn from her experience!
Love my “Fit-Overs”…am freakishly possessive of them. They are the best I have had…”don’t leave home without them”! Glad you’re feeling better. Headaches SUCK!
i keep some of my sunglasses collection in the car so i have them when i need them most!
OH Pam, hope today you are feeling better. I’m snow blind up here in CT but, if im going to get a headache I’d rather it be from glare of sand/water not snow.
ouch! I’d have a migraine for sure. Take care and remember to put them on before you get in the car/golf cart/bike or walking path!
