Happy New Year!

As we close the book on 2013, memories of this incredible year have flooded my heart with happiness while sharing our shelling adventures with you. Every day on the beach I have felt like you have been right along side me and my lens. Thank you for being there and for your encouragement and your excitement as we learn new places and new treasures to explore together. Without you, I would not have been as focused to share Mother Nature’s wonders of Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and so many more beaches of the world. It’s been a wild ride! Thank you!!

It was not easy to come up with only 10 iLoveshelling blog posts as my favorites so I really had to decide which ones I think I will be talking about for the rest of my life. We were soooo very fortunate to be able to travel to fabulous shelling destinations more in 2013 than ever before so those were no brainers to choose. But since this week has been so special with our low tide mornings and I can still feel the excitement of yesterday’s shell pile transforming right before our eyes… I am starting at #10 with a video I promised to show you on yesterday’s post. (Tomorrow – New Years Day- should be an even lower tide! Yippee!)

So Enjoy the count down for my top 10 fave iLoveShelling blog posts…

#1 Three Bobcat Kittens And Their Mamma

Weirdly enough, my fave memory and blog post of 2013 doesn’t even have to do with the beach but I knew everybody who loves shelling would share in the excitement of seeing the other glories of Mother Nature at work. It was the heart racing moments on Sanibel watching a BOBCAT mother and her three kittens play together while I photographed and videoed them.

Yet, today’s video takes the PRIZE….You were so quick with your cam…. filming Barbara from Illinois as she got so tickled snagging that Shark’s Eye !! The excitement as she held on to that shell was pure joy :)

    Cheers !!

  9. A great selection for 2013. :)

I loved to see that shell pile forming, that was very interesting! And I loved the life cycle stages of the king’s crown and its predation. But of course those baby bobcats and their mom HAD to be in first place! Beyond cute and beyond fabulous to have seen them and to let us see them too! And the mating manatees totally deserved to be up there at the top too! :)

  24. Thank you for sharing all of the great shelling experiences from 2013. What a super sheller year it was! I have learned so much from your website. The videos bring a smile to my face and there is nothing like hearing the water first thing in the morning. I am looking forward to the Cayo Costa shelling trip Feb. 1st and learning more about the treasures of Sanibel/Captiva in 2014. Happy New Year to everyone.

  25. Love Love Love, your Best of 2013. May you and Clark have a healthy and even better shelling 2014! We are so blessed to live our shelling dreams through you on I Love Shelling!

  26. Happy New Year!

  27. Warm New Year Wishes to the newly expanded Rambo family!

As Jack and I reflect on 2013, the delightful December 6th iLoveShelling cruise to Cayo Costa is definitely a highlight! (A future cruise with Captiva Cruises is now on our “fun things to do” list.) Pam, it was such a pleasure meeting you, (and later Clark), and witnessing the joy and respect for nature that you exude. The handsome wormie you added to our collection is a fond reminder of our cruise and your generous spirit. Many thanks to you and Clark for sharing your time and lives with all of us. You two are the real treasures of Sanibel Island!

  28. What great picks for 2013. The laughter in your video was so contagious and I really enjoyed re-living all of those great posts. Fingers crossed that we will be back in the end of February (depends on my mother’s health issues).

As the others have said, thank you for your tireless work on keeping all of us entertained, amused and enlightened with the ever changing landscape of Sanibel.

Happy New Year to you and Clark and here’s hoping for a healthy, happy, shell-filled 2014!!!
