Rocco from Poland sanibel whelk

My favorite time to shell is the late afternoons in the summertime when the tide is low. Unfortunately it seems like we’ve had rain every evening at low tide. It makes it better that we get a few breaks in the showers when the thunder fades away to give us a brief moment to run to the beach. I’m so happy I went to Sanibel Lighthouse Beach to see Rocco surprised to find a gorgeous live LIGHTNING WHELK (he merrily put back in the water) and his friend Jayden do the happy dance (literally!) after he found an empty LACE MUREX. So cute!

Alex, Kasia, Rocco (on the left) along with Julia on the far right were visiting Sanibel all the way from Poland! Their friends Jayden, Sharon, MacKinzie and Pierre were back again for the second time visiting from Curacao. I met them last year on the same beach while Sharon had her mom from Holland. Wow! The world is a small place for this family.

I didnt find gobs of shells on the beach at the lighthouse and I haven’t been to Blind Pass but I have heard that FORT MYERS BEACH and  LITTLE HICKORY have been great for shells the last few days. But … Okay …that’s not the surprise. I have a little something to announce soon that yall might really be happy about … if you like get-togethers- wink, wink. I’m still working on details so I cant divulge any information just yet. But STAY TUNED!
