It was 58 degrees- brrrrrrrr- when I got to west gulf to meet my friend Ellen to check out the shelling this morning. There are shell piles again! Mostly CLAMS, minis, TOP SHELLS, OLIVES and SCALLOPS (and a couple of WORM SHELLS!) but the most exciting thing was seeing the PEN SHELLS on the beach. It seems when the gulf gets rough and starts stirring things up out there, the PEN SHELLS are usually the first ones to make it on the beach. Then the next few days the good stuff comes rolling in. Let’s roll, Baby!
