Blind Pass - Photo by Clark on his iPhone

Clark is having a ball without me because there are high NW winds making big waves on the beach at Blind Pass Sanibel….. which are bringing in the shells. I’m still in Virginia Beach visiting my mom but he called me several times yesterday to tell me the east end of Sanibel still doesnt have many shells (yet) but Blind Pass is rockin’.

He even took pictures with his iPhone to show us who was finding what so I guess he’s sort of a guest blogger today. heehee. He took this next picture and said “Cute family of four from Durham, NC they were here all week saw us in the parade and have been coming for years” –

OMG- Clark just called again. You won’t believe this! He went to Blind Pass today (Saturday) to tell me it just wasn’t the same as yesterday so he went to the beach around Sundial Resort. Super Sheller Clark sniffed it out again….

Can you believe that? He’s a JUNONIA crazy man! It’s a little cracked but it’s even better than the one he found a couple of weeks ago. It’s gorgeous! Weehoo! Way to go honey!

Beep. Beep. Okay let’s back up, let me show you the rest of the pictures he took from yesterday’s adventure at Blind Pass. Look how huge this live MILLIPEDE STARFISH is! After letting several people take pictures of it, she put it back to the water to help it survive.

Clark took this cute little arrangement of all of his finds from yesterday. He found a SCOTCH BONNET and an ALPHABET CONE yesterday and a JUNONIA today. Wowee, dude!

My 2 daughters, niece, sister and I will be there in 6 days…can’t wait!!!! Love the junonia, but I have to say that I really love the alphabet cone and the Scotch bonnet!!! Great job, Clark!

  12. Ive says:

Awesome. We were there in mid June and the shelling was not good at Lighthouse beach or Blind Pass. We did get some good shells on Marco Island. Considering a trip in late June or July next time for better shelling. What do you all think is the best time for summer shelling?

  13. Lisa says:

What a great collection! I can imagine what your home looks like with all your wonderful shells. I’m wondering – does Clark usually find his junonia’s on the beach or in the water?

    • Clark says:

I’ve found one junonia digging in a hole at the Lighthouse, one on the beach, one in the surf while the shells were washing up at Blind Pass, the other two were in the slight drop off about two feet off the beach in the water. So as you can see there is no special science just going out there a lot and lots of luck. We’ll see what today’s low tide brings.

  14. Cshells says:

WOW! The shelltrifecta, the Scotch Bonnet, the Alphabet Cone & then the Junonia. You might want to start wondering when he starts suggesting that you should take more trips without him. I’m beginning to think the guys have a better eye or is it just a bigger hoe. Good goin’ Clark.

  15. mckenzie mcneil says:

Oh my gosh Clark. You found another one!! Nice!……….(I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous)

  16. Jean Holycross says:

Clark, Is there no end to your shell whispering skills? Your junonia find is inspiring.

  17. Amy says:

Sanibel? Can I come down to play? Missouri is just pretty poorly for shells and beaches!

  18. JudyO says:

Clark is the Master Sheller or is it Shell Master but I don’t know I think when the really perfect Junonia is found the Shell Gods just might send it to that girl who only finds those pieces lol.

  19. Lee Garrett says:

Wow, great finds for Clark. That Junonia looks wonderful. I’m happy if I find a piece of that special shell.
