Rory (London) at The Mucky Duck<\/p><\/div>\n

It was still sooo cold today! I can’t believe we were in the 30s \u00a0today. It’s hard to find good shells when your teeth are chattering and your finger tips are numb. It warmed up in the afternoon to maybe the 50s but it’s still hard to stay out there long.<\/p>\n

I saw cute little bundled up Rory walking around The Mucky Duck with his parents Amy and Henry with a WORM SHELL in one hand and a big COCKLE CLAM shell in the other hand. They are staying at South Seas Resort (visiting from London) and found these shells at the north end of the resort. Amy said she has never seen so many shells on the beach in her life.<\/p>\n

I sure wish I could run up there to check out their beach but South Seas is a private resort so locals can’t get in (unless, of course, we pay to stay there too). But that’s OK since the beaches in Captiva\u00a0have some really good shell lines. Not big shells but smaller MUREXES, OLIVES, KITTEN’S PAWS, and CALICO SCALLOPS.<\/p>\n

The wind is coming from the North West so I thought Blind Pass would be good but not much new there. Only the old piles to pick from.<\/p>\n

I was at the east end of Sanibel early this morning (for me, early is 9am) and it was fun to see the tide still so low but I didn’t find much. I can’t stand to stay out there too long when it’s so darn cold and you can’t get what’s rolling in the water. Don’t mind the cold? Im sure you can find lots of stuff rolling in the surf tomorrow. Just take a net…..and lots of layers of clothes.<\/p>\n
