We thought we&#8217;d find lots of shells to bring home but not today- they were all live. That&#8217;s a good thing! href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sand_dollar\" target=\"_blank\">SAND DOLLAR<\/a>S\u00a0are brown and fuzzy on the bottom and edges? The white smooth ones are dead and you can take them home&#8230;.if they don&#8217;t break on the way.<\/p>\n<p>I think this was the first time I&#8217;ve ever seen a live <a title=\"OLIVE\" href=\"http:\/\/shellmuseum.org\/shells\/shelldetails.cfm?id=102\" target=\"_blank\">OLIVE<\/a>! Cool! \u00a0Can you believe this clump of <a title=\"murex\" href=\"http:\/\/shellmuseum.org\/shells\/shelldetails.cfm?id=72\" target=\"_blank\">MUREXES<\/a> all piled on that PEN SHELL? \u00a0Of course, after I snapped a photo of these live shells we put them back where we found them&#8230;.to live happily ever after.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Low tide exposed so many live shells this afternoon at the shoreline on Sanibel.
