Richard with Kaila and Kotton

Richard with Kaila and Kotton

I know this has nothing to do with shelling, but I had to take a picture of these gorgeous samoans, Kaila and Kotton, on the beach. I was so jealous of their beautiful fur coats…and because they are the first ones that look so excited about our cold weather. They look like fluffy, soft snow and couldn’t wait to keep truckin’ down the beach to enjoy the coolness.

HUGE shell pile at West Gulf Dr #4

HUGE shell pile at West Gulf Dr #4

It’s so amazing how the beach on #4 changed since Sunday. That little sand bar that I showed Clark shelling on has turned HUGE! This is the same place that I took a picture of on my post “Warming to 49” looking at the 4th and 5th picture down. Crazy! There are so many different shells, I can’t even name them all. There are still the dead (frozen) fish and starfish but there are lots of WHELKS, CONCHS…….etc. It would great to spend a few hours there sifting through. Remember, if you aren’t staying on West Gulf Dr and don’t have an A parking pass, you have to get to West Gulf by bike or walk the beach…..(or risk getting a parking ticket).
