i Love Shelling Shop, Open For The Holidays!
Posted by: | Comments
It’s gonna be a seashell Christmas!
The beaches have been quiet this past week so being inspired by all of you who have encouraged me to sell some of my designs and photos, I decided to open a new online shop. I started with my Christmas designs since the holidays are right around the corner!
You can have these designs on t-shirts, mugs, Christmas cards, ornaments, coasters and more.
These are great gift items for your favorite sheller or for yourself to brighten the holiday.
I also designed a new Sanibel Six logo since we’ve been talking about these great finds all year long. You can now have this design on tees, mugs, coasters too.
I will be adding a calendar, I.D. posters and a few other designs like my original i Love Shelling shirt but it will take a few more days. So I hope you are as excited about this as much as I am but I promise I will get back on the beach this weekend and give you an update. If you already haven’t clicked on one of the photos to take you to the i Love Shelling Shop, here’s the link to shellebrate the new shop.
Thank you for your support!!
Shellebrate Hound-O-Ween
Posted by: | CommentsI was stopped dead in my tracks when I saw a walking JUNONIA in CVS drug store on Sanibel. It was Kona the Shiba Inu as “JUKONIA”with her dad Chip. Hilarious and so stinkin clever!
Happy Halloween!
Since this post has already gone to the dogs, I found a few other Sanibel Stoop pooches too…
Happy 4th Of July, Sanibel Island Style
Posted by: | CommentsHappy Independence Day, y’all! This year’s theme for the Sanibel 4th Of July Parade was “Shellabration” …. so we couldn’t miss out on a shelling theme, now could we?
We plopped that big honkin JUNONIA right on top of our cart, added some shell garland, mixed in our patriotic colors then revved up the “Junonia Jalopy” and headed to Periwinkle Way to shellebrate our country.
Oh yeah, AND we threw out over 500 shells (CONCHS, WHELKS, OLIVES, MUREXES, COCKLES, etc) to the crowds along the streets. Everybody loved getting real shells!
There were 55 other “floats” that were having just as much fun as we were…
The “Shellabration” theme was to kick off the 75th Sanibel Shell Fair and Show that will be held March 1-3, 2012. Yep! That’s SEVENTY FIVE years the Shell Fair has been on Sanibel so this next one will be a doozy. This is the fabulous poster designed by local artist Pam Brodersen.
Speaking of Pam Brodersen, she sent me pictures she took of our cart in the parade today. Thanks Pam!
The Junonia Jalopy is taking a short rest to take us on to the next stop…. Fireworks!
Easter Colors Sanibel Style
Posted by: | CommentsEverywhere I looked last night, I saw the colors of Easter… in seashells.
As we “hopped” around to the lighthouse beach filling up our Easter shell basket, I ran into sisters Carol and Gail finding goodies for their basket (errr, shell bag
).
It was their last night on Sanibel and Carol finally found her first WENTLETRAP at the lighthouse beach. Yippee! Congrats!
I found sweet little LACE MUREX.
And I found this cute little DUSKY CONE on a piece of SEA PORK. It looks like an Easter egg broke and the yoke spilled everywhere, doesn’t it?
Then we hopped on over to the beach off Middle Gulf Dr. and met Aimee (too shy to have her picture taken) where she found three of these FIGHTING CONCHS so I added the one furthest down in her palm. Look at how cool it is since it has a “freak” growth pattern.
Even the BANDED TULIPS had a hint of pink for Easter.
Happy Easter! Good wishes for you all to shellebrate the day.
I Saw Santa On The Beach

And I may have caught him doing a little shelling too…..
Merry Christmas!
Sanibel Christmas Eve Seashell Style
Posted by: | CommentsThis is the sweetest nativity scene made with URCHINS, PEN SHELLS, CLAMS and topped with a STARFISH.
I also want to share a really cute Christmas carol written by local sheller Jody Brown. Our neighborhood sang carols together the other night and I learned her new song. Now we can too! Ahem…. Okay, all together now…
Jingle Shells, Jingle Shells ……
Now that you are warmed up, I’ll show you what I found at Blind Pass this morning…. Shelling sisters!
Meet sisters Kelci, Katie and Kara shelling for COCKLES and CONCHS.
Speaking of CONCHS, I found some candy for Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!
