In the last two weeks, we’ve seen lots of beaches in southwest Florida covered in shells. We’ve also seen some of those treasure filled beaches swept back in to the Gulf Of Mexico just as quickly as they came in. But on Big Hickory Island, we were still finding all sorts of cool loot stretched out from one wrack line to another.
We were on our iLoveShelling seashell adventure on the Sight Sea-R!
So when we get a boat load of fun shellers together…
we all find super fabshellous stuff.
And super fabulous new friends…
Not only did our group find ROSE PETAL TELLINS…
FALSE ANGEL WINGS and FALLEN ANGEL WINGS…
We found a few WENTLETRAPS too…
Oh yea…. ALPHABET CONES!
Then there’s this ball of CRYSTAL she found on the beach …
Wow! We had a geologist on the boat who said this may be hundreds of millions of years old.
And there’s Helen’s good fortune…. she found a super, SUPER fabulous shell. She found a LIONS PAW!
When ya have lots of other awesome super dooper shellers that gather around to show appreciation for this sweet find, it’s even more fun than ever to be a beach comber.
Not sure how it gets better than this.
Oh wait… Gifts. Thats what is even better. I give lots of little gifts to each passenger on our iLoveShelling cruises along with Congress Jewelers!
PS- Clark and I are judges in the Sarasota Shell Show this weekend February 3-5 so if you’re around, stop by and say “hi”. We’ll probably be there most of the day on Saturday and Sunday morning as well. Its a fantastic show!
Oh yea… and another PS- While I’m in Sarasota, Shell Love Bug will be at ArtFest Fort Myers this weekend if ya wanna stop by to see her. CLICK HERE for more scheduled tour dates.
As I hear about the terrible winter storms north of Florida, I feel a wheeee bit embarrassed to be complaining about the chilly weather of 54 degrees here on Sanibel Island that swept through yesterday. So before I get out my big down coat and boots with wool socks to head to the beach, I’m hoping if I post the photos I took earlier in the week from our iLoveShelling trip to Big Hickory (when we were still in bathing suits, shorts and tee shirts), it’ll warm us all up a tad.
There were warm, colorful shells strewn all over the bright sunny beach. ;)
Our group was able to wade in the Gulf Of Mexico without a care in the world.
And find ALPHABET CONES, LACE MUREXES, LETTERED OLIVES and FLORIDA FIGHTING CONCHS.
I met awesome families with rosy sun-kissed cheeks finding buckets of shells.
GAUDY NATICAS, ROSE PETAL TELLINS, ANGEL WINGS, SHARKS EYES and NUTMEGS.
Wow…. and more ALPHABET CONES!
So many shellers with their ALPHIE eyes on!
It was such a pleasure to spend such a gorgeous day hanging out with so many cool shellers.
SEA PEARLS, DRIFTWOOD and WORM SHELLS…. I absolutely loooooove these beach treasures.
JUNONIA Sue (from my last post) and friends were with us!
Thank y’all for coming out and enjoying the day with me.
A day of beach combing always warms the heart…. and hopefully helps give a little warmth even if it’s virtual shelling. Stay safe, y’all!
I’ll let ya know what these high winds from this winter storm washes up on our beaches soon. The waves are entirely too rough right now but the anticipation… always exciting! :)
PS- I’m trying to work out some new dates for the next few months so once I get everything worked out, I’ll post them on the Shelling Trips page HERE. Hopefully soon!
A day on the water is always a special day but if you can believe it… boating to Big Hickory Island in Bonita finding lots of seashells is even more special.
There were shells everywhere on the beach.
There were lots of shells snorkeling in the water too.
Omigosh- And the CONES and GAUDY NATICAS!
Our boating day on Sight Sea-R Cruises was awesome… worth every “dollar”…
Join me on a day trip from Sanibel with a boating day to a secluded island to go shelling together CLICK HERE
PS- Just in case you didn’t get a chance to see who won the giveaway yesterday… CLICK HERE for details.
It took a great deal of patience not to immediately pounce on this LETTERED OLIVE, FIGHTING CONCH and 2 pieces of gorgeous CORAL but instead take the time to get a photo before a wave washed them away. Same goes for this FLORDA CONE…
Heehee … but I did it to show you that sometimes the whole shells are hiding near broken bits of shell crush so they are harder to find. I spotted these shells on our iLoveShelling cruise with Sight Sea-R Cruises after we pulled up to this gorgeous island of Big Hickory last week.
The Gulf Of Mexico was calm, clear and dotted with shells along the shore.
But the best part of our trip was…. awesome shellers!
Finding awesome treasures!
…. And beach bling!
We were even treated to a DOLPHIN “show”. They followed our boat for so long and were so playful long side us, I think they wanted to hang out with us and see what kinds of shells we found.
It was a marvelous day surrounded with fabshellous folks. Thank yall for joining me!
Lets get together for a shelling day! Check out my upcoming dates… CLICK HERE
Big time fun at Big Hickory Island with this big bunch of fabshellous folks!
Our boat with Sight Sea-R Cruises took us to this amazing island with clear blue water, lots of sunshine…
And seashells to find on the beach.
And treasures to find in the water.
I’m a little delayed in posting, but this was last week on Halloween day. Cutie trick or treaters found lots of seashell treats.
That’s an amazing ALBINO LACE MUREX along side those 2 FLORIDA CONES, huge BABYS EAR and sweet striped SUNRAY VENUS. Fantastic finds!
I couldn’t believe I even found a fossil SHARK’S TOOTH.
Every time I’m on this cruise, I’m thrilled to meet and see shellers find such exquisite gems. I look so forward to these trips!

On on our iLoveShelling Adventure to Big Hickory with Sight Sea-R Cruises.
I love when we all can get together to tell shelling stories. Annie brought her JUNONIA she found at Blind pass last week. Shellzam Annie!
It’s such a beautiful place to spend time shelling together.
For the whole family to hunt for treasures together. ;)
Since I’ve been so tied up for the last few months with creating Shell Love Bug (CLICK HERE) I feel so badly I didn’t get to share our awwweeesome trip last month to Big Hickory so I want y’all to know I’ve been thinking of that amazing day too.
Cutie shelling families!
Y’all are such a beautiful sight for sore eyes!
It’s always so cool to see the shells and beach bling everybody finds.
This is truly beach therapy.
